Description
Bakran is a very old Iranian red-fleshed variety native to Bakran Village. Not only are the apples red-fleshed, but the seeds, young leaves and wood of the trees are also red. The trees are reputed to have good disease resistance and the juicy sweet/sharp fruit contains more anti-oxidants compared to regular apples. In its homeland, this variety is used for drying, cooking, juicing and eating fresh. This variety is surely a must have for the collector of rare and unusual varieties.
